Boris Seewald is an award winning director and editor based in Berlin.
With a musical background and an ability to direct from an editor’s perspective coordinating image and sound, he seeks his form of expression in the rhythmical illustration of music allowing the audience to feel the tangible energy.
With the intention of pursuing a career in film, he began working on his own film projects and amassing work experience in this field. Though Boris Seewald is primarily self-taught, he studied directing at the Filmarche Berlin and film studies at the Freie Universität Berlin.
His short film Momentum has won more than ten awards, including the Cinedans Dioraphte Jury Award – the highest award for dance film worldwide.
This led to numerous film projects including the music videos for The Feast, Spark and Disco by artist Ralf Hildenbeutel which have been shown at more than a hundred film festival and have received several awards between them.
Since then he freelances and has completed music videos for labels including Deutsche Grammophon, has worked as director and in the post-production department for short and corporate films and has edited numerous commercials and television series.
The viral webisode #klangberlins for the Konzerthaus Berlin which he directed and edited attracted worldwide media and was awarded several times, including the Cannes Corporate Award and the Art Directors Club Peaks Award as best YouTube video of the year.
