Siar Sedig was born April 22, 1988, in Kabul, Afghanistan. His parents fled to Europe as refugees and there they began a new life, in the Netherlands. Growing up in the gray suburbs of Amsterdam, Siar was always creative: he loved to draw and build stuff from scratch. After high-school, Siar decided to take a leap of faith (his family wanted him to become a doctor) and went to the Academy of Fine Art and Design, AKV St.Joost to study film (both documentary and live-action). His third year student film “Last Exit Home” has been selected for several international short film festivals and even won the audience award for best film at Clip-award International Short Film festival, in 2012. His thesis film “Your First” was nominated for the National Student Academy Award, The Netherlands Film festival and the International Student Film festival in Hollywood.
