Ted Curson is one of the last jazz legends alive, his time is coming to an end and with it the last sparks of an era that carved a vibrant artform. The continuous touring, the endless waiting and the shadows of the past prove to be a burden too heavy to carry any longer. Filmed at a manor house in Helsinki, the slow and elegant fade of the building resembles that of Its occupant. The directorr is witness to painful and overwhelming honest statements by this protagonist of a period from which we only have the faint traces that are the records.
Iván Torres Hdez studied film in Madrid and shortly after finishing he moved to Scotland where he started working as a live visuals artist. It was not until he moved again, to Finland this time,that he made his first steps as a documentary and experimental filmmaker heavily influenced by literature and new visual and sound narratives. His projects included the short documentary Constancy 2011 the award winning video piece Shipwreck, 2012 and a wide number of live cinema performances in galleries and theatres.
