Upon hearing a myth about falling stars, a young girl’s curiosity is sparked. When night falls on AlWakrah village, she sets out on her father’s boat, with the assistance of her older brother, to chase the fabled comets.
Amal Al-Muftah was born in Doha in 1994. She started making films in high school, including ‘AlKora’ (2013) and the award-winning ‘Alhamali’ (2014). After graduating from high school, she enrolled in Northwestern University in Qatar’s Communications programme. During her first year there, she worked on ‘Smicha’ (2016) with Innovation Films, and ‘Eh fe Amal’ (2015). Her third narrative film, ‘Sh’hab’, screens at Ajyal Film Festival 2019.
